The classic trench is a wardrobe must however, why not try something new and opt for a modern take on this coat. Metallics are still making the rounds this season so if you’re brave enough buy a deep bronze or shiny gold trench. Also consider hot pink, bright white and electric blue. The contrast of a shocking, crisp color and classic shape works well. Lastly, if you want something simple and long-lasting pick tweeds in brown or grey…. way more interesting than boring black.

Burberry trenches are always a classic wardrobe staple. The lining and recognizable plaid makes it the quintessential item for the season. The Burberry plaid not only matches everything but also brightens up the boring black of the everyday trench.
I absolutely love my Burberry trench for being so classic, versatile, and practical in our climate. Most of their classic pieces are reasonably priced too, especially considering price per wear. Theory and Ya-Ya have had some really cute trench coats at similar prices, but they just don't have the longevity of a classic Burberry. I also love my Mike and Chris trench with all the cute big buttons, but it would definitely start looking dated sooner than later. Mike and Chris is my current favorite contemporary outerwear label.
